Structure and Objectives

Structure and aims

This course (A) is for people whowant to approach to the charming world of conducting and who haven’t learn yet those knowlidges and experiencesuseful to this purpose.

Course (B) moreover it is open to people who have just tested the conducting and want to deepen the knowledge of this profession.
The course will include 6 meetings, each one of 2 following days, starting from November up to May 2010.

The working system will endeavour to transmit, analyse and develop the following subjects:

• the score: the formal, structural, instrumental aspect,

• the instrument: bows, technical, expressive, intensity possibilities regarding the instruments, etc.

• the interpretation: style, tradition and – in case is requested by the opera – the literary and scenic aspect.

• the technics: impulse, weight, schemes, changings of tempo, etc.

Besides the Swarowsky course, will be an Master in Sophia, the master will last 3 days with contribution of Sophia Festival Orchestra. The master isn’t inclusive in the Swarowsky course. Everyone can go to the master, whether student of the course or not, but the students have right of pre-emption. The directions for attend master will be printed on a Brochure.

*Board end lodging will be charged to yuo

Lessons will take place:

• Saturday, Sunday, lesson of conducting technique, theory, analysis of the scorse, pratical application with the pianoforte and Cordes.
